I began my career in the labor movement as an employee of Ozark Air Lines and a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. From 1990-1995 I served as president of IAM Local Lodge 949, the largest local in the TWA system, with over 4200 members.
Leaving the airlines, I took a job with the AFL-CIO. In March of 2005, I was hired by TNG International and sent to Memphis, TN as a mobilizer. In September, 2005 I was hired to be the business manager of TNG-CWA 36047, the St. Louis Newspaper Guild.
Before coming to the Guild office, I worked at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch from March 1987 to November, 2005. Most of my years at the PD were spend in Classified Advertising.
As a Guild member, I’ve served as a shop steward, board member, treasurer, labor council delegate, mobilization and administrative committee member.
I came to work for the Guild in December 2006 as Office Manager after taking the buyout at the Post Dispatch in 2005, where I worked in the Payroll Department for twenty-four years. I enjoy working at the Guild; it reminds me of the old payroll department full of fun and laughter. I have two daughters and seven lovely grandchildren.
My hobbies include listening to music, basketball and traveling whenever I can.
I began working at the Guild in March of 2010 to help our union mobilize our current membership, support new organizing efforts, and perform technical work such as building data files and our website that help us reach our goals. I cut my "organizing teeth" for nine years at Missouri Progressive Vote Coalition as the Internal Director.
In September, 2010, I moved to Costa Mesa, CA, and maintain, build, and expand our website to better serve our members. Contact me anytime if you have a website edit or addition!
